I used to help a talent booker for an Amazon TV show find people of color to feature on different segments. One day, a media opportunity landed in my inbox… and it was for an interview with Angela Bassett on IMDb’s Amazon TV channel.

Now listen—I’m a huge Angela Bassett fan. So instead of passing it along like I usually did, I asked if I could take this one for myself.

The response? She laughed and said, “Of course you can.”

So there I was—virtually interviewing Angela Bassett and getting to ask her about her role alongside Lady Gaga in American Horror Story. It was surreal. But it also sparked something bigger…

That moment made it clear: I’m the go-to person for media looking for Black and diverse voices.
